Terms of Service

The Keel Institute LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("the Institute," "we," "us"). Last updated 6 September 2026.

What we provide. The Institute publishes a written curriculum of character formation for adult men and a members-only platform on which it is read. A membership gives you access to the published materials and to a private record of your own practice. We are a publisher. We are not a school. We grant no degrees, credentials, or certifications of any kind, and nothing we publish should be relied upon as professional, medical, legal, or psychological advice.

Who may join. You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for the security of your account and for the passphrase and recovery code you set when you enroll.

What it costs. Membership is $40 per month, billed in advance, until you cancel. Prices in other currencies are converted at the time of purchase. We may change the price of a membership, but never for a member already enrolled without telling him first and giving him the chance to cancel before the change takes effect.

Payment. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record for all purchases. Your contract for the purchase is with Paddle; your membership is with us. Paddle's terms apply to the transaction and to any tax charged on it.

Cancellation and refunds. A membership can be cancelled at any time. For thirty days after you first enroll, you may have your money back for any reason or for none: write to us and we will return it. After that, if you have just been billed and have not read anything since, write to us and we will return that payment too. We do not hold a man's money against his will. On cancellation, access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Your record is not deleted; if you return, it is where you left it.

Your record. What you write in the Helm is encrypted with a key derived from your passphrase. We cannot read it. We also cannot recover it if you lose both your passphrase and your recovery code. This is deliberate, and it is the point. Entries, once made, cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including us.

Our writing. Everything the Institute publishes — the curriculum, the documents, the site's text — is our copyrighted work. A membership buys you the right to read it, and to print or save copies for your own use. It does not buy the right to republish it, distribute it, teach from it, or use it to train any automated system.

What we do not promise. We do not promise that reading this curriculum will change you. That depends on you. We promise only that the materials are what we say they are, that they will be available to read, and that we will tell you the truth about them.

Ending a membership from our side. We may end a membership for non-payment, or for conduct that damages the platform or other members. If we do so without cause, we refund the unused portion.

Changes to these terms. We may revise these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and members will be told.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.
